Everything about Ugliness totally explained

Ugliness in physical things is their quality of being unappealing, visually (or occasionally to other senses), especially to the point of evoking revulsion or horror.
Despite its aspects as inherently a matter of degree, and the impracticality specifying all the objective attributes that individuals identify as contributing to their own judgments of ugliness, evolutionary psychologists expect that the genetic makeup of the person judging yields on one hand perceptions of ugliness directly caused by objective asymmetry of face or other body parts, by other signs of ill health, and by signs of aging, in the opposite sex, and on the other, moderations of objectivity, that render one's intimates, in-group members, and genetically more similar associates relatively less ugly, and enemies, outgroup members, and genetically more similar associates relatively more ugly, other factor being equal.
There is also evidence that cultural endorsements of specific characteristics can influence judgments of ugliness.
